I qualified with a BSc Hons degree in sports therapy from the University of Birmingham, completing the full time course over 3 years. I am registered with the Society of Sports Therapists and have full indemnity insurance through this membership. Working as an individual I am a very enthusiastic person when it comes to my job. My clients are my priority and helping them to return to a level of participation they are happy with is where my job satisfaction is achieved. I enjoy meeting new people coming from different backgrounds and sporting experience. I have always been a keen sports person myself with an interest in various sports including netball, football, basketball and hockey. I became interested in pursuing a career in sports therapy having completed successful physiotherapy and sports therapy on injuries I have sustained through my own personal sports participation.

  • BSc Hons in Sports Therapy
  • Emergency First Aid
  • First Aid @ Work
  • Defibrillator Operator Qualified
  • Level 2 Qualified Fitness Instructor
  • 1st Team sports therapist for Belper Town Football Club
  • Sports therapist at the London Marathon, Great North Run, Birmingham Half Marathon, National Jujitsu Finals

Whilst undertaking my degree I completed 300 hours of voluntary work experience which included working with a female basketball team in Birmingham where I was able to build on my knowledge and skills, whilst also running a sports injury clinic directly from university where members of the general public could book an appointment and come and gain treatment from qualifying students. Following on from this I then completed 3 years of voluntary sports therapy hours at a semi professional football club where I vastly developed my skills and knowledge. Having progressed well in my career I was able to gain a promotion to Belper Town Football Club, another semi-professional club a few leagues higher than my previous club. On top of this during my university years I also undertook work at various sporting events including the London Marathon and the great North Run. Having gained all of this knowledge and experience I decided to set up SPST so I can offer my sports therapy service to a wider range of clients. The service is currently ran as a mobile service so will be carried out either in the comfort of your own home or at a pre-arranged location e.g. Your sports club or venue. SPST is looking to progress to having its own clinic in early 2014.
